This is a bundled service — e-Solicitor Certification (Qualified Electronic Signature) + e-Apostille.
Since an e-Apostille can only be issued for e-certified documents, both the solicitor certification and QES are included.
The e-Apostille service excludes a small number of document types. To legalise the following documents, use the paper-based service instead.
- All General Register Office (GRO) documents, including birth, death, marriage, civil partnership and adoption certificates
- ACRO police certificates for England and Wales
- Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) certificates for England and Wales
- Disclosure certificates for Scotland or Northern Ireland
- Fingerprint certificates
- Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) membership certificates
The organisations that issue these documents do not currently allow electronic copies to be legalised. For example, some of the documents include physical features and therefore must be viewed in their original format
The stated processing time refers only to the apostille service by the FCDO. It does not include additional time required for:
- Postal delivery
- Further certification by a UK Solicitor or Notary Public
- Rejections or delays beyond our control
- Please check in advance whether your document requires certification by a UK Solicitor or Notary Public. If you're unsure, our team will be happy to advise you.
- If your documents do require solicitor or notary certification, they must be delivered to us or processing.
You will receive the full address details for your selected drop-off or postal location via email after you complete your order online, based on the location you choose.
